The legendary Danish longjohn cargo bike has been a main feature on the streets of Denmark for the better part of 90 years. Amazingly, in all that time, no one had given a thought to what could be done to make the bicycle better, faster, cooler.
Enter Larry vs Harry, the new brand in Danish bicycle production, founded in 2008 by Lars and Hans. They became Larry & Harry for the international market and the addition of ‘versus’ placed right between the names originates from their work process. They constantly challenge each other – and have done so since they went to school together.
Like with most Copenhageners, bicycles have always featured prominently in Larry’s and Harry’s lives before hooking up as Larry vs Harry. Larry designed cargo bikes for other companies and was always uncompromising in his quest for perfection and Harry used a cargo bike as his primary transport for his construction company for 18 years.
One day the two friends decided that it was time. Time to redefine the longjohn and take it to the next level. Quite simply, to produce the most complete bicycle in the world. A bicycle that could match the automobile in speed, load capacity and design.
A cargo bike built on timeless, existing principles but with a look and performance capabilities that have never been seen before.
Enter the Bullitt.
The name may seem obvious but it is also Harry’s middle name and has been in the family for many decades. In Larry vs Harry’s stables there are 13 versions of the Bullitt. All the names have a story and most of them relate to the 1960′s and 1970′s when Larry and Harry were growing up. An age where technology and art were cool and uncompromising. An age of icons.
Larry vs Harry produced the bicycle they had dreamed of and that they thought the world needed. Fortunately, a lot of people seem to share their passion for the Bullitt. Bike messengers were the first to embrace the Bullitt but Larry and Harry have discovered that the bicycle’s appeal has proved to be much broader.
Businesses and families have discovered the Bullitt to fulfill their daily transport needs as well as adding to their desire to possess an iconic symbol of modern sustainable urban living.
The Bullitt is back!
